POKOTABI / Café Cottage
カフェコタージュ
At カフェコタージュ, hearty options include borscht packed with meat and vegetables and eggplant keema curry. Take in the rows of cups lining the wall over a deep, pleasantly bitter coffee.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
At カフェコタージュ, a collection of coffee cups and saucers displayed on built-in shelves spanning one wall catches the eye as soon as you step inside. Set back from the bustle of the main street, the café has soft music and a calm atmosphere, with counter seating, tables and a quieter space at the back where you can settle in.
Many people come for a meal as well as a coffee. The borscht is a popular choice, generously filled with chunks of meat and vegetables and served with thick slices of bread; its homestyle depth invites you to take your time. Other filling options include eggplant keema curry, with tender, soft eggplant served alongside fried onions and pickles, and creamy mushroom pasta lifted by a subtle hint of garlic.
Coffee choices include the house コタージュブレンド and スペシャルストロング, a rich, pleasantly bitter option with restrained acidity, so you can choose to suit your mood. For a slower afternoon break, try an アイス・エノワール, where soft cream meets the bitterness of coffee, or an アイスアイリッシュ made with クリーム酒.
